Mission Impossible

The final theatrical release of Mission: Impossible marked the conclusion of a nearly thirty year franchise, spanning eight films and culminating in The Final Reckoning. During my time at Paramount, I worked closely in developing the creative for the theatrical style guide for the final film, which required a deep study of the series’ visual history with a focus on the story and tone of its final chapter. Unlike many previous Mission: Impossible films that emphasized high tech and futuristic visuals, this installment intentionally looked back to analog military references including classified briefs, redacted documents, technical blueprints, and vintage aircraft, while still incorporating modern instruments and AI technology. The visual language needed to feel authentic and weathered, grounded in a restrained palette of military greens, gray metal tones, dark blues, and fluorescent orange. Through extensive research into military documentation, I illustrated a series of artifacts, vehicles, and symbols from the film, forming a flexible visual system that supported the DTC Paramount Shop and was used across multiple official theatrical merchandise releases.
